This instruction will take you step by step in lighting, shaping, dealing with green contamination and camera placement. This is incredibly in depth and gives you my 25 plus years of experience in dealing with lighting green screen for VFX with the positives as well as the negatives, ways to light it and ways not to, pitfalls and failures.
We’re going to go through the basic principles of lighting a green screen. My gaffer, Eric Forand, is going to take us through the process. After it’s lit, we’ll move on to whatever grip support we have to do—then on to camera, how to deal with contamination, how to meter exposures on the green screen, and finally, we’ll go over a cool way to separate your talent by using specific color temperatures in your light.
