On Set With Shane
One exciting and valuable part of the Inner Circle is the On Set with Shane content. This is my way of taking you on set with me as a virtual member of my team. Imagine seeing things as I do when I walk onto a location for the first time. Shadow my footsteps with the director and experience our discussions about the setting, the mood, and tone. Understand the style of shooting we will deploy, along with the emotions of the scene. Below is an excerpt just from one lesson from On Set with Shane: Fathers and Daughters. This is just a small sample of the knowledge you’ll gain from being a member.
I take pride in showing you my location pictures, lighting schematics, basically a blueprint into how I create. I will describe what I’m looking at, like the light quality in the room, and how I shaped it. I share before and after screen grabs and list the things I’ll need to alter to transform ordinary into extraordinary.
HERE WE GO!!!!!!
…Moving on, we are at Katie’s apartment again. Katie and Cameron dance the waltz together. I wanted this to feel very beautiful. I lit it mainly with practical lights within the house. They are dancing in and out of rooms, which was a single shot, and we slide from left to right. Eventually, we wipe into blackness as they complete their dance….
