Teradek just announced their new Bolt 10k, an “ultra high-performance, zero-delay video receiver with a range of 10,000 feet.” WOW, that sounds kick ass! That’s almost 2 miles of range. The drone guys are going to love this. I honestly can’t think of any other high-quality wireless system with this kind of range.
The Bolt 10K receiver is meant to work with the Bolt 3000 system, and only the Bolt 3000 system. It comes out of the box packing an integrated panel array antenna, Gold or V-mount battery plate (So you can power it off of your rock solid Blueshape Granites), a 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs, and a 3/8” screw hole for mounting.Front
You should note that this thing doesn’t belong on a camera, it’s been designed to be mounted higher up off the ground on a stand – it’s what I’ve done with my Teradek 3000s that have had their signals amplified by using Teradek’s Antenna Array for Bolt Receiver. Here’s a photo of me using them in Italy last summer.
This 10K receiver has 33 point LUT support too, so you’ve got another option for where in your image pipeline you can dial in your look. I’ve been using this feature a lot lately at video village with my RED Weapon LUTs .
The Bolt 10K hits the streets at the end of this month with a retail price of $6990 US. If you want one, you’ll have to get in line behind me, haha!
